Reports of figures or requirements that do not match their source are the most useful thing a reader can send us.

- the page address and the figure or statement you think is wrong;
- what you expected and where it comes from: for pay, the BLS table and year; for a requirement, the exam body's or licensing board's page;
- for licensing rules, the state the rule applies to.
Every pay figure on Careers and Salaries comes from a named BLS release, so the quickest check is to open the same table for the same year. Requirements in guides cite their sources at the end of each guide. We reply to reports and correct confirmed errors; see the corrections policy.
Questions about the data
We can explain how a figure is defined, which file it comes from and why it differs from other salary websites. The methodology and why salary sites disagree answer the most common questions.
What we cannot help with
We cannot provide pay figures that BLS does not publish (for example by employer, years of experience or individual city neighborhoods), recommend specific schools or give individual tax, legal or career advice.
